Here is the latest Pac-12 Conference sports news from The Associated Press – Yakima Herald-Republic

UNDATED (AP) — No. 1 Georgia leads an unchanged top five in The Associated Press college football poll. The rest of the Top 25 has been shuffled around after eight ranked teams lost. The Bulldogs received all but one of the 63 first-place votes in the AP Top 25 for the second straight week. No. 2 Ohio State received the other first-place vote. No. 3 Michigan, No. 4 TCU and No. 5 Tennessee held their spots after victories Saturday, with only the Horned Frogs facing a real challenge. Oregon losing at home to Washington and UCLA losing at home to Arizona has shaken up the rest of the top 10.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — KJ Simpson had 23 points and 10 rebounds to lead Colorado to an 78-66 upset victory over No. 11 Tennessee. Tristan de Silva added 14 points for the Buffaloes. They shot 43.5% from the field, compared with the Volunteers’ 25.4%. Josiah-Jordan James and Tyreke Key led Tennessee with 15 points apiece.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Haley Jones scored 17 points and Cameron Brink added 12 to help No. 2 Stanford rout Portland 87-47 on Sunday. Stanford (4-0), which led by as many as 43 points, has not lost to a West Coast Conference team since falling at Gonzaga in 2018. Liana Kaitu’u led Portland with 13 points in the Pilots’ first loss of the season after opening with a pair of consecutive wins.

HOUSTON (AP) — Zytarious Mortle tipped in a missed shot with 5.6 seconds left and P.J. Henry stole the ball in the closing seconds as Texas Southern shocked Arizona State 67-66 in the Pac-12/SWAC Legacy Series. John Walker III missed a jumper near the left elbow and Carter Grayson slipped inside for a tip that rolled off the front of the rim where Mortle, a freshman, was waiting to the tip. As ASU’s Frankie Collins raced the ball upcourt, Henry got his hand on it just as Collins got inside the 3-point arc and it rolled away as time ran out. Henry led the Tigers with 22 points, hitting four 3-pointers. Walker added 16 points and Mortle, a freshman, added 10 off the bench. Collins led the Sun Devils with 23 points.

BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) — California fired offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave and offensive line coach Angus McClure with the Bears on a six-game losing streak. The Bears are 3-7 and rank near the bottom of the Pac-12 in total offense, rushing and scoring at 23 points per game. Cal has two games left, both at home. The Bears face rival Stanford on Saturday and finish the season against No. 16 UCLA on Thanksgiving weekend. Musgrave and McClure were both in their third seasons with Cal.

TUSCON, Ariz. (AP) — Esmery Martinez didn’t miss a shot and scored 15 points to help No. 19 Arizona beat Cal State Northridge 87-47. The Wildcats scored 28 of the final 30 first-quarter points to take a 22-point lead into the second and led by at least 30 throughout the second half. Martinez went 6 for 6 from the field, including one 3-pointer, and made each of her two free-throw attempts. Kailyn Gilbert added 16 points, Cate Reese and Maya Nnaji scored 14 apiece and Jade Loville 12 for Arizona (2-0). Jordyn Jackson scored 12 points for Northridge. Tess Amundsen and Michelle Duchemin added 10 points apiece.
