A new season on the horizon means a new look for some teams around the NBA, with several teams dropping new threads ahead of the in 2022-23 season.
With Nike issuing Association, Icon, Classic Edition and Statement Edition jerseys, teams have more options than ever to bring back retro looks, with some of our favorite jerseys reborn for 2022-23.
The Sporting News has you covered with all the latest jersey releases from around the Association.
Detroit Pistons
It’s a new era in Detroit and they’re tapping into their past, bringing back the iconic teal uniforms, which served as their road jerseys from 1996-2001.
The teal Classic Edition uniform is expected to be worn in approximately 10 games during the 2022-23 season, bringing back memories of the Grant Hill, Jerry Stackhouse era.
More importantly, it marks the return of the ‘horsehead’ logo, a fitting tribute to the Motor City.

“To Pistons fans everywhere – we heard you, and this is for you,” said Mike Zavodsky, Chief Business Officer for the Detroit Pistons.
“The teal jerseys represent a ‘colorful’ time in Pistons basketball and NBA history. We are thrilled to re-introduce the teal to a new generation of basketball fans, and can’t wait to see this version of Detroit Basketball suit up in them.”
San Antonio Spurs
The San Antonio Spurs’ iconic silver and black threads are one of the staples of the NBA, but next season they’re adding some flair to their Statement Edition uniform.

The jersey features the new secondary SATX logo, with the sides featuring ‘patterns inspired from traditional Mexican serapes and saddle blankets’.
The Statement Edition is one of five jerseys the Spurs will rotate next season, with a new City Edition Uniform to be revealed later this year.
Clevland Cavaliers
It’s a full rebrand for the Cleveland Cavaliers next season with a new collection of jerseys that includes the Association (white), Icon (wine) and Statement (black) core uniforms.

The Jordan-branded Statement Edition uniform takes inspiration from the black jerseys worn in Game 7 of the 2016 NBA Finals, the Cavs’ first-ever NBA championship.
Utah Jazz
It’s a brand new look for the Utah Jazz next season after they unveiled a fresh collection of uniforms.
The Jazz are bringing back the classic purple mountain uniforms, worn between 1996-2004, including two trips to the NBA FInals in 1997 and 1998. It also made a brief comeback in 2019-20 as the team’s Classic Edition uniform.
The purple jerseys will serve as the primary uniform, while the white, black and yellow will serve as alternate colorways.

Along with the fresh threads, the Jazz will also feature two accompanying court designs at Vivint Arena in line with the new uniforms — one featuring the purple mountain and the second a back and yellow design featuring the iconic Jazz Note.
Both courts will also include a logo for the 2023 NBA All-Star Game.
