He had adopted the slogan “Mélenchon, prime minister”, and there’s no likelihood of that occuring now even when he swears he’s not leaving politics. He’s now not an elected MP and it’s too early to say whether or not his alliance of mainstream Socialists and Greens with the far-left LFI and Communists will survive in the long run.
